Dates & Deadlines
Plan ahead: key application dates for 2026–2027 admissions
Application Deadlines
International admission to Romanian universities follows an annual academic calendar, with most undergraduate programs starting in October. However, application deadlines vary slightly by institution and whether the applicant is from the EU or non-EU.
Here’s what to expect:
Non-EU Applicants | |
|---|---|
| Application period: | April – July |
| Deadline to submit documents: | Usually between July 15 and August 1 |
| Enrollment & visa processing: | August – September |
| Academic year starts: | Early to mid-October |
Because visa issuance may take several weeks, students are strongly advised to apply as early as possible, ideally before June.
EU/EEA Applicants | |
|---|---|
| Application period: | May – late July |
| Some programs allow early application in March–April, especially for programs with limited seats or additional tests (e.g. architecture, performing arts). | |
| In most cases, EU students can apply directly to the university and benefit from multiple sessions (summer and early fall admissions). | |
Special Programs or Entrance Exams
Programs such as Medicine, Dentistry, or Architecture may have earlier or fixed deadlines, sometimes in May or June, and may require additional steps like interviews, written tests, or portfolio evaluations.
