Tuition & Fees

Affordable education with global recognition: discover tuition ranges for undergraduate and graduate programs in Romania for the 2026/2027 academic year.

One of the most attractive aspects of studying in Romania is its affordable tuition fees, especially when compared to other European countries. Whether you’re enrolling in a public or private university, costs remain accessible while maintaining a high standard of education and internationally recognized degrees.

For most undergraduate programs taught in English or French, tuition fees range between €2,000 and €5,000 per academic year at public institutions. Programs in high-demand fields like Medicine, Dentistry, or Architecture may have higher costs, typically between €6,000 and €10,000 per year, depending on the university and specialization.

Private universities, while sometimes slightly more expensive, offer competitive pricing as well — usually between €3,000 and €4,000 annually for programs in fields such as business, law, or international relations.

In some cases, universities offer monthly tuition payment options, especially for EU applicants, with rates varying from €220 to €300 per month, depending on the faculty and study language.

In addition to tuition, students must pay a non-refundable admission (application) fee, which typically ranges between €50 and €100. This fee covers the processing of documents, eligibility review, and initial administrative handling. Some universities may require higher fees for medical or architecture programs, especially where multiple admission phases (interviews, portfolio evaluations) are involved.

The admission fee is paid once, usually at the time of application submission or during pre-enrollment.

Tuition fees generally cover:

  • Full access to lectures, seminars, labs
  • Academic advising and administrative support
  • Campus infrastructure (libraries, labs, IT systems)
  • Some student support services (orientation, visa assistance, etc.)

However, they usually do not include accommodation, or student materials (books, lab kits), which are paid separately.

  • Non-EU students are typically required to pay the tuition fee in full at the beginning of each academic year.
  • EU students often benefit from monthly installment plans and access to merit-based scholarships.
  • Many universities request the first year’s tuition as part of the visa support and enrollment process.
